The Manning Institute of Biotechnology at the University of Virginia is a cutting-edge research center within this bio-innovation campus. Through state-of-the-art medical research and manufacturing facilities at UVA’s Fontaine Research Park, this campus plan is pivotal in transforming the area from a car-dominated parking area into a pedestrian-friendly, biophilic green campus. Built entirely on a structured landscape centered around a new university quad, the Manning Institute features robust native Piedmont regional plantings, shaded seating terraces, movable furniture, and a central amphitheater which fosters informal collaboration and provides varied spaces for respite, supporting those engaged in groundbreaking medical research.
