Situated in Boston’s Financial District, this civic center reimagines public space at the base of the iconic 100 Federal Street tower. The plaza features a prismatic glass winter garden that houses retail spaces, an interior garden, and farm-to-table restaurants. Designed to function as a “living room” for the city, the Exchange fosters collaboration and social interaction through elongated wooden community tables that serve as informal hubs for gathering. This sensation of outdoor living is further enhanced by a biophilic material palette, creating a seamless connection between the landscape and the architecture at Post Office Square.
