NY Port Masterplan

The “Convergence” Port Masterplan, developed in collaboration with Perkins Eastman and Arup, was chosen as a finalists in an international design competition for the Port Authority’s bus terminal. Our team’s innovative proposal involved relocating the terminal to the Javits Center, effectively removing buses from street level and creating a new waterfront park that also functions as resilient infrastructure. This design harnessed the full potential of transit infrastructure to establish an iconic destination in the city for both travelers and residents. The vision redefined neighborhood streets, resulting in a permeable street-level network designed for small vehicles and a moderate volume of commercial traffic. At the heart of this master plan is a grand central plaza at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, serving as the final destination along this newly envisioned pedestrian corridor.
