Children’s National Campus
Washington, DC
Washington, DC
This transformative 10-acre pediatric research and outpatient care campus was built on the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center site in Washington D.C. This healthcare campus seamlessly blends the adaptive reuse of existing buildings with the addition of new roof terraces, plazas, and pedestrian focused landscapes and streetscapes designed to foster health and wellness. Centered around human-centered design principles, the landscape design incorporates research that demonstrates the positive impact of natural environments on children’s health outcomes, creating a healing space that benefits both patients and the surrounding community.
